“This painting is part of a series I did entitled Form and Fabric. I wanted to depict how some women define themselves by the clothes or fabric that they wear. Fabric is oftentimes used to express culture, emotion, mood, social status or other forms of communication through color, design, texture and pattern. With this painting I am surmising that some women will cover their feelings before they cover their bodies.
The face which is the pathway to people¹s emotions can express more then simple body language. The fabric is in the color red because it is the sign for danger or “red alert.” The intricacy of the fabric echos that of the emotions.”
